Mini Coaster Roller Coaster
The Mini Coaster is a compact steel roller coaster built for families, with a maximum height of 6 metres (20 ft) and a track that trades big drops for quick curves and gentle descents. The self standing structure needs no foundation, so the ride sits on any level surface and is ready to run. It works indoors as well as on a plaza, which is where a full size family coaster cannot go.
A backyard roller coaster built to code
A search for a backyard roller coaster usually returns two things: toy kits for small children, or home made timber projects with no certification behind them. The Mini Coaster answers the same wish with a manufactured ride. It carries adults as well as children, it comes with the documentation of a park attraction, it occupies 28 by 13.5 metres (92 by 44 ft), the footprint of a large private property or a small venue. Anyone who has looked at backyard roller coaster plans and wanted the real thing is looking at this class of machine.
The train is made up of a locomotive with four seats and five wagons of two, fourteen riders in all, each row held by a shared lap bar. A kicker wheel lift drives the ascent, a system that replaces the chain of larger coasters with powered wheels pressing against the car, quieter in operation and simpler to maintain.
Everything is engineered for transport. The Mini Coaster can be dismantled, moved to a new location, reassembled without civil works, which makes it suitable for a travelling operator as much as for a site that changes its layout each season. Every unit is designed and built to the regulations of the country of installation, with quality certification and full inspection before shipment.
